Reducing Autism Unemployment — One Design at a Time

In New York City, far too many individuals with autism and developmental disabilities face barriers to meaningful employment. Despite their strengths, creativity, and abilities, unemployment and underemployment rates remain unacceptably high.

Heartshare Designs was created to change that.

Heartshare Designs is a NYC-based, student-run vocational enterprise where students with developmental disabilities gain hands-on experience in design, production, teamwork, and customer engagement. Through real-world work opportunities, students build job skills, confidence, and pathways toward future employment.

Every item created through Heartshare Designs represents more than a product — it represents possibility, inclusion, and opportunity.
